No ads
No advertising, no ad SDKs, no data brokers in the pipe. Nothing in the app has a commercial reason to watch you. You are the customer, not the inventory.
No analytics
No behavioural tracking, no engagement funnels quietly logging your worship. Your location, mosque and prayer log are computed on your device and stay there.
Why this matters
The reason a worship app has to earn trust is that the category has spent it.
In 2020, reporting revealed that a data broker was buying precise location data from popular mobile apps — among them a leading Muslim prayer app — and reselling access to contractors working with the United States military. Location gathered around the five daily prayers is, by definition, a map of a person's faith. Once that data is sold, it cannot be un-sold.
We don't say this to score a point against a competitor. We say it because it is the plain reason we made the choices below. An app funded by advertising has a standing incentive to know where you are. We removed the incentive by removing the business model that depends on it.
Not "we won't" — "we can't"
We built it so we couldn't betray you.
A privacy policy is a company saying we choose not to. It can change with the next funding round. ImanKeeper's privacy is structural: the data simply isn't gathered in a place we could ever sell it from.
- Prayer times and Qibla are computed on your device from your location — the coordinates never touch a server of ours.
- Your mosque match — by directory, photo, detection or manual entry — is resolved on your phone.
- Your prayer log and streak live only in the app's on-device storage. Delete the app and they're gone; there is no cloud copy of your worship.
- No third-party SDKs for advertising or analytics ride along to collect what we don't.
One more thing we won't do
We will never guilt you about a missed prayer.
Trust isn't only about data. ImanKeeper is built to lift you toward your prayers — to welcome you back, celebrate the days you keep, and quietly hold your place — never to shame, pressure, or manufacture anxiety to keep you opening the app. Your relationship with your Lord is not an engagement metric.
Plain answers
The questions worth asking any worship app.
- Does ImanKeeper track my location?
- No. When you allow location, it is used only on your device to compute accurate prayer times and the Qibla direction. It is never uploaded to a server and never shared.
- Does ImanKeeper show ads?
- No. There are no adverts anywhere in ImanKeeper, and no third-party advertising or tracking SDKs. You pay for the app, so the app works for you — not for an advertiser.
- Does ImanKeeper sell or share my data?
- No. ImanKeeper does not sell, rent, or share your information with anyone. There is no account and no analytics profile to sell — your prayer log, mosque, and location stay on your phone.
- Do I need an account to use ImanKeeper?
- No. ImanKeeper works with no sign-up and no login. Because there is no account, there is no central record of you to leak, subpoena, or sell.
